As of October 2022, I’ve begun rehearsals as an emergency substitute musician on Broadway. I’m learning all the guitar parts, and the organ finale, for Arthur Miller’s “Death of a Salesman,” starring my old friend Wendell Pierce!

Guitarist Ed Cherry’s album, “Are We There Yet?” spent numerous weeks, in 2023, at number one on jazz radio. This recording includes Kyle Koehler on organ, Byron Wookie Landham on drums, and myself on vibes. The recording was record of the year on the Jazz Radio chart.

March 30, 2023, I shared the stage with Steve Jordan, Robert Cray, Betty LaVette, Ray Parker Jr., Taj Mahal, and others, for the Jazz Foundation of America’s “Great Night In Harlem” fundraiser at the world-famous Apollo Theater.

Monte Croft joined the staff of Berklee College of Music, as an Associate Professor, as of 2023.

2025 guest professor at Hanze Conservatory, Groningen, Netherlands.

LIFECYCLES with Brian Blade, Myron Walden, Jon Cowherd, John Hart, Doug Weiss, Rogerio Boccato, and myself, did a sold-out three-night run at the Village Vanguard, NYC, March 14-16, 2023. This appearance celebrated the release of our album NOW! AND FOREVERMORE honoring Bobby Hutcherson.
